Recovery Alberta is committed to transparency and compliance with the Public Sector Compensation Transparency Act.
For previous years, the compensation information released is total annual compensation, which includes base salary, overtime, shift premiums, weekend premiums, on-call pay, sick pay, vacation pay, benefits and relevant severance. This disclosure also includes board members, regardless of the amount of compensation, severance or benefits they have received in the past year.
The deadline to apply for an exemption to the next disclosure is November 1 annually — anyone granted an exemption will not be included in the next annual disclosure. Note that there are very stringent government guidelines for granting an exemption. The government communicates directly with those who have applied for an exemption with those details.
Income plus taxable benefits paid to a member or employee. Excludes severance.
If total compensation exceeds the 2025 threshold of $159,676, non-taxable benefits, including the public sector body’s share of pension, dental and health spending accounts and other benefits must also be disclosed.
Includes payments when employment or member’s appointment ends or retiring allowance.
For inquires related to this disclosure, including information about the exemption process, contact Richard Heron.
Compensation data for all employees and board members of government agencies, boards and commissions who have received over the annual threshold amount is available on the Government of Alberta site. Compensation data can be accessed in a sortable, searchable table format.
